Stop Weekend Hunger with the Food for Kids “Weekend Backpack” program
Ballard High School students shouldn’t go hungry when school is out
The Weekend Backpack program gives students in need food over the weekend — 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 3 dinners and menus are rotated for variety. Students can request vegetarian or special dietary options. It’s all very discrete. The backpacks are distributed on Thursday or Friday.
How it works:
Ballard High School, BHS PTSA and the Ballard Food Bank are working together to provide weekend meals for students who are in need throughout the school year.
- We provide 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 3 dinners & snacks to all students in need
- Food is distributed discreetly to students on Thursdays or Fridays for the weekend
- We rotate menus to provide different meal options, including vegetarian and other dietary requests
- For more information about signing up, food offered or other questions about the program,
